Blantyre Then and Now

Currently there are two display cabinets in the corner once you enter the building which contain historical items. The centre has also acquired a number of pictures of Blantyre's past, from the miners to the streets, which you can see hanging on the walls of the corridors outside the halls and boxing gym. The pictures further help to emphasise the history of Blantyre.

Bill Sim who is part of the Steering Group and runs his own historical website said “I am proud to be part of recording Blantyre's rich heritage and colourful history at the Blantyre Miners Community Resource Centre. It should be a part of every Blantyreonians life to ensure that their history, achievements and artefacts are made available for current and future generations, less it will be lost forever”.
