Social Groups

Social Group's! There are a number of groups operating throughout the South Wales Coalfield which provide social activities and support for older people in these areas. The groups are set up and run with support from the Coal Industry Social Welfare Organisation.

The links below provide information about the groups which are already in existence, new members are welcome to join these groups and do not need to have a direct mining connection (except for the Ogmore Vale group). CISWO's Social Inclusion Development Officer (Aimee Hopkins) welcomes contact from anyone who would be interested in establishing similar groups within their own communities.
