'Court Royal - A little bit of South Wales on the English Riviera...'

A warm welcome awaits you.... Court Royal has served as a facility for the South Wales Mining Industry for more than 60 years and during this time it has evolved into a fine hotel facility with extensive refurbishments taking place in recent years. Investment into making Court Royal a first class facility continues to the present day with a comprehensive refurbishment of the exterior recently concluded. It operates today as a registered charity (number 206608) and is open all year around providing the opportunity of a holiday to former mineworkers and their wives or widows. Court Royal is situated in a prime position on the Bournemouth Seafront on the South West English Coast and offers unparalleled views of the pier and seafront. Holidays at Court Royal usually last a week, beginning and ending on a Monday. Transport is provided from one of five pick up points along the M4 corridor. From the moment you arrive at Court Royal, a warm welcome awaits you from the staff who will do all that they can to ensure that your stay is an enjoyable one. Two holiday schemes are available at Court Royal. One operates between November and March for men who have been employed in the Coal Industry who are asked to pay a small contribution towards the cost of transport for their break. The other holiday scheme takes place during the summer season (and at Christmas) and is open to former mineworkers and the wives and widows of former mineworkers. Although there is a charge for these holidays, it is at a ‘not for profit’ rate. In order to see whether you would qualify for a break at Court Royal, please refer to our eligibility criteria
